What is the difference between fountain lights and pool lights?
Fountain, pond, and waterfall lights are freestanding or nozzle-integrated fixtures built for moving, shallow water, with beams aimed at jets and curtains. Pool lights are niche-mounted wall fixtures for lighting the pool body. They are not interchangeable - optics, mounting, and control differ.
Can IP68 underwater lights stay submerged permanently?
Yes - IP68 per IEC 60529 means continuous immersion under the manufacturer's stated depth and duration conditions. Verify those conditions on the test report; permanent submersion in a pond or fountain basin is standard for these fixtures.
12V or 24V for fountain lights - which do I choose?
12V for small fountains, ponds, and short runs; 24V for commercial fountains, long perimeter runs, and multi-fixture installations where voltage drop and transformer economics matter. Both are safe low-voltage options.
How do fountain nozzle lights work?
The LED beam is projected through the nozzle bore so the water column itself glows. Match the nozzle bore to the pump's flow rate and jet height; the hydraulics and optics must be matched for a clean column.
How should I light a waterfall?
Mount narrow-beam lights above or behind the fall, angled down along the curtain - roughly one fixture per 0.5-1 m of fall width. Light the curtain itself, not just the pool below.
